A Research Assistant for postdoctoral fellow Dr. Tal-Chen Rabinowitch, Lena Console is currently supporting a study on musical group interaction promoting the development of empathy in children. Additionally, she is an Independent Scholar in the Laboratory for Music Cognition, Culture & Learning (MCCL) at UW, with other research interests including chord perception, expectancy and emotion.
Also a passionate musician and educator, Lena performs on modern and historical trumpets and teaches with various musical organizations throughout Seattle, including the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Music Partners, Academy of Music Northwest and Creative Music Adventures.
Lena holds two degrees from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music: a BM in Trumpet Performance and a BS in Music Theory & Philosophy.
